Therapy Intensives are the perfect solution for children/teens with hectic schedules who might not be able to commit to weekly therapy sessions. Whether they're balancing after-school sports, extracurricular activities, or other obligations, intensive therapy offers a flexible option for addressing anxiety and developing coping skills.
With condensed sessions that deliver tangible results in a shorter timeframe, children can still receive the support they need without sacrificing their busy schedules. It's a convenient and effective way to prioritize mental health and well-being while juggling life's demands.
And as a bonus… these sessions can be held in the comfort of your own home! (Northern NJ residents, only)
Therapy intensives eliminate the usual stop-and-start of traditional sessions—no need to spend time catching up or winding down. Instead, you get extended, uninterrupted time to focus on what matters most.
This focused, immersive approach allows for deeper emotional work and faster progress—often achieving in one session what might take weeks or months with weekly therapy.
why an intensive
The structure is as followed…
-
Before the session, we will conduct an initial assessment to understand the child's needs, goals, and any existing therapy they may be receiving.
The intake lasts between 60-90 minutes.
-
You & your child will receive resources, assessments, and a personalized treatment workbook prior to our therapy intensive.
-
Unlike traditional sessions that lose time to check-ins and wrap-ups, the intensive is a long, uninterrupted block focused entirely on deep, meaningful work. This immersive approach allows your child to process emotions, build coping skills, and make real progress—faster.
We will use EMDR, DBT, CBT, parent coaching, and other modalities that are predetermined.
-
Offer guidance and support to parents/caregivers on how to reinforce therapeutic concepts at home for longevity.
-
Open communication via phone call / text for supplemental support following the intensive.
Follow-up appointment 2 weeks later to monitor progress and adjust the treatment
